GreenGasGrid placed a strong focus on effective implementation of project results on the national level.

The schedule designed by the Austrian Energy Agency (AEA) foreseed target-oriented national and trans-national market activities. Starter countries have had benefit from the know-how of more experienced countries and the network of the European Biogas Association in the project consortium. The objectives of this activity were:

1. to organise two regional biomethane feed-in info days in all partner countries for informing national stakeholders about the opportunities GreenGasGrids provides to them and to disseminate the project results on a national level

2. to create a basis for stimulating new biogas feed-in applications

  • by inviting biogas producers/potential business partners of forerunner partner countries to business match-making events at the regional info days
  • by inviting “first movers” and experts from forerunner countries to share their experience with potential biogas producers and business partners at the regional info days
  • by inviting policy-makers and key actors from starter countries to a three days study tour in Austria and Germany for know-how transfer

3. to prepare national bio-methane roadmaps for stimulating national bio-methane market activities in cooperation with national key actors in all partner countries serving as a blue print for, or improving, the national bio-methane policy strategy
4. a practically oriented know-how transfer from forerunner to starter countries
5. by providing information on service and product suppliers, framework conditions and on best practice projects (see market platform)
6. by stimulating and supporting demonstration project activities
